Anna Lalla Morrow

24 novembre 1931 – 24 mars 2025
Avis de décès de Anna Lalla Morrow
AUX SOINS DE

Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home & Cemeteries

Anna L. Morrow, 93, died on Monday, March 24, 2025 in Metairie. She was a long-time resident of New Orleans and Metairie born on November 24, 1931 to the late Nicholas and Lena (Cuccia) Lalla.

All who met Anna loved her due to her sociable and engaging personality. Once asked by a care provider about her hobbies, she paused for several seconds and then stated, “I like to talk!” She made friends easily and engaged in conversations whether with family, friends or complete strangers. She was both fun loving and funny. Her greatest pride and joy in her life was raising her four children as a single mother. She was a great mother who devoted all of her focus and energy to raising her children well. She was actively involved with them often being in the yard playing with them or in the driveway shooting basketball with them. And as they grew into adulthood, Anna enjoyed being part of their lives as well as those of her grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately knew her as Granny. She enjoyed travel especially on cruises throughout her life. She also enjoyed music and playing the piano. When her children were in high school and beyond, Anna worked as a sales associate for D.H. Holmes then Dillards. She worked in the men’s sportswear department having a keen eye for color and style for men’s ties. Even into her later years, Anna was a huge fan of the Saints knowing many players and positions by their numbers.

Anna was a parishioner of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church in Metairie. She enjoyed socializing in the Red Hat Society of New Orleans.

Surviving Anna are her children David Morrow of St. Rose, LA, Kathy Mazanek (Matt) of The Woodlands, TX, Dr. John Morrow (Patti) of St. Petersburg, FL and Tom Morrow (Patricia) of Harahan, LA. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by brothers Leonard Lalla, Nicholas Lalla, Dominick Lalla and sister Antoinette Pichon.

Her family wishes to thank care providers Reuka Vicknair who had provided in-home care and Lisa Young who provided additional care while Anna was in assisted living and then nursing home care until her death.
