A T Green, Jr. of New Orleans, LA, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He was 82 years of age. Born in Joinerville, TX, he was the son of the late Orra Wynnell Edens and Al Taylor Green. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Carter Green, and three children by his late wife: Annette Green Alvarez (Walter); Jason Green (Stephanie); Yvonne Green Grace (Peter); and four step-daughters Kelley Carter Saucier (Luke); Caroline Carter Figueroa (Greg); Sandy Carter Avanzino (Scott); and Holly Carter Gordon (John). He leaves behind 15 grandchildren: Andrew, Adam & Patrick Alvarez; Noah Green; Alexander & William Grace; Adelaide & Gabrielle Saucier; Carter, Corinn & Gregory Figueroa; Noelle & Kenneth Avanzino; and Alyce & Lyla Gordon. He is the brother of Sandra Standley, and uncle to a niece, three nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Gonzalez Green. He attended Texas A & M University where he was in the Corps of Cadets, and graduated in 1955 with a B.S. in Geology. He was an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves. An independent geologist for 44 years, he began his career with Union Oil of California and was with Superior Oil Company before forming Green Exploration Co. (GEX). As president and operator, GEX specialized in developing South Louisiana prospects leading to discoveries of oil and gas reserves. He was a member of the New Orleans Chapter, and former national president, of the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (SIPES), the New Orleans Geological Society, and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and others. In 1984 he had the honor of receiving the Distinguished Service Award from the Gulf Coast Association of Geological Societies for his contribution and service to the oil and gas industry. He was a past president of the New Orleans A & M Club. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Southern Yacht Club, the New Orleans Country Club and various other civic and social organizations. A T lived a full and rewarding life both personally and professionally. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all.
