Charlene Ann Lassinger

Groton— Charlene A. (Lamothe) Lassinger, 73, passed peacefully Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Fairview, surrounded by her loving family. Charlene was born April 16, 1950, in Norwich, the oldest of four children born to Charles and Jeannine Lamothe, whom predeceased her and welcomed her home to heaven upon her passing.

Charlene was a dedicated and proud mother and grandmother, who is survived by her husband Gary; three children; Jeannine Maiolo-Ward (Chuck) of Groton, Gary Lassinger (Meredith) of Quaker Hill, and Laura Ellal (Donnie) of Groton; and 5 grandchildren, Halle Ellal, Hannah Ellal, Holden Ellal, Hayden Lassinger, and Gabe Ward; brothers George Lamothe (Andy) of Summerfield, FL, Charles Lamothe, Jr. (Trish) of Old Lyme and Robert Lamothe (Amy) of East Lyme. Charlene also cherished close relationships with countless family and friends by whom she will be dearly missed. Charlene was also predeceased by her late son-in-law, Danny Maiolo, whom she was reunited with.

Charlene was best known for her incredible care and compassion she provided to her many patients at Mystic Manor and Visiting Angels. When she wasn’t caring for patients, if the sun was shining, Charlene could always be found relaxing at her favorite spots at Eastern Point Beach.

We would like to thank Fairview for the two years of care provided and the wonderful nurses and staff.

Above all, Charlene’s life was one to be admired and learned from.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 6th from 11am-1pm with a memorial service beginning at 12:30pm at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London.
