Verna Touchet Hebert

NEW IBERIA – Funeral services will be celebrated for Mrs. Verna Touchet Hebert, age 62, at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 28, 2011 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Rev. Andy Starks will officiate. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Monday from 9:00 am until services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Hebert passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at her residence in Erath.

Verna was a homemaker who was known for her generous and kind heart. She loved spending time with her family and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Helen Brignac, Angela Segura, Rachel Rivers, Emily Morvant, and Chad Hebert all of New Iberia, and Allison Hebert of Erath; her grandchildren, Ashley Morvant, Corey Segura, Justin Segura, Lexie Thornton, Taylor and Tyler Maturin, Tara Brignac, Brayton Kennedy, Markel and Breonna Callahan, and was expecting a grandson in December. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret Grow, Verlie Hebert, and Yvonne Gary; and brothers, James Touchet, Wayne Gary and Randal Gary.

Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Hebert; parents, Edrus and Elvina Gary Touchet; sisters, Shirley Touchet, and Michelle Gary; and brothers, Roy Gary, Jr. and Randy Gary.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Hebert, Wayne Gary, Michael Racca, Kent Armentor, Shane Leblanc and Joseph Bourque.

The family would like to thank Maison Teche Nursing Home, AAA Homehealth, Dr. GD Segrara, Dr. Mahesh Changlani, Dr. J. Darvin Hales, and all family and friends that cared for her during her illness.
