NEW IBERIA – Funeral services will be held for Sigrid Anna Fitch, age 71, at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia. Deacon Wynard Boutte will officiate. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 am until the service time. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am.
A native of New Iberia and resident of Lafayette, Ms. Fitch passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.
Sigrid was a kind and loving woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. She dedicated her time and attention to caring for her family and spoiling her grandchildren. The grandkids were Sigrid’s light a joy! She will be forever remembered by her family for being a people person who never knew a stranger. Sigrid loved walking up to people she had never met and talking to them as if they were best friends. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all, Sigrid will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Michalene Guidry (Terry) and Marsha G. Reid (Jerry); grandchildren, Kylie Guidry (Skylar), Dexter Baudoin, and Josie Munar; great granddaughter, Skylee Taylor ; and brothers, Lawless Fitch, Jr. (Debbie), Russell Fitch, and Prather Fitch (Donna).
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawless Fitch, Sr. and Dolores Landry Fitch; brother, Tad Fitch; and nephew, Brad Fitch.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff Maison du Lafayette and Ochsner Lafayette General for their constant care and love of our dear mother during her time of need.
