NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. James Harold Mouton, the former Rena Turner, age 85, at 10:30 am Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Deacon Wade Broussard officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on day until service time.
A native of Milton and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Mouton passed away at 10:50 pm on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at her granddaughter’s residence.
Mrs. Mouton was a very talented and excellent seamstress. She worked for many years at The Specialty Store and House of Cache. She was a very personable lady with a great sense of style who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Mouton is survived by her son, Allen Ray Simon of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Gloria Aucoin of New Iberia an Diana Fredricks and her husband Charles of Gainesville, Florida; eight grandchildren, Letina Bailey; Kristen Pentecost; Megan Simon; Dawn Bauer; Darren Simon; Dodie Currera; Star Veazey and Dustin Veazey and seventeen great grandchildren, Tyson Labit; Shelby Pentecost; Corbin Pentecost; Madalyn VanAlstine; Gage VanAlstine; Alyia Bauer; Jesselyn Simon; Darren Simon; Hailey Simon; Faith Simon; Hannah Simon; Austin Currera; Savannah Currera; Alexandra Currera; Seth Currera; Alexis Guillory and Andrae Joseph.
She is also survived by three brothers, Sidney Turner and wife Pat of Las Vegas, NV; Chester Turner and wife Anna of Maurice and Carol Turner and wife Gwen of Milton and one sister, Hilda Mire and husband Pete of Bridge City, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Mouton; son, Darrell Lee Simon; two grandchildren, Shawn Aucoin and Neil Aucoin; parents, Leonce and Susanne Menard Turner; four brothers, Harold Turner, Wilbert Turner, Willis Turner and Dalfred Turner and one sister, Mable Pellerin.
Pallbearers will be Chester Turner, Carol Turner, Allen R. Simon, Dustin Veazey, Jeffery Pellerin and Rodney Pellerin.
Mrs. Mouton’s family would like to extend a special thanks to all family and friends for all of their help and prayers. They would also like to thank all of the kind and loving women that have helped her get through her journey.
