Patricia was born August 31, 1970 in New Iberia to Edwin DuBois and the late Peggy Broussard Dubois. Patricia, also known as “Trisha” or Trish” to her family and close friends was full of life. She always wore a smile and never met a stranger. Being the natural caregiver that she was she enjoyed her job working for the ARC of Acadiana in the residential program at a group home, and referred to all of her clients as her “little friends”. As a hobby, she loved playing pool and was a member of the APA which she always thrived to do her best.
She is survived by her children, Joshua Romero and Brennan Smith; a step-son, Aaron Bonin (Fawn) and his children whom she adored, Jaylee Bonin and Hunter Bonin; her companion and care giver, Troy Boudeloche; her father, Edwin Dubois; her sisters and brothers, Lisa Dugas, Cindy Dubois, Sharon Lemoine (Bobby), Karen Meaux (Carl), Mike Dubois (Ann), Blaine LeBlanc (Charlotte), Kevin Broussard (Kathy), Kirk Broussard, Kerry LeBlanc (Mary); her former husband and friend, Karl Bonin; and a host of nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Broussard Dubois.
The family wishes to send a heartfelt Thank You to two special angels, Judy and Phillip Boudeloche, Sr. for their hospitality, and for taking care of and loving Patricia as she was their own daughter. And to Troy Boudeloche for never leaving her side and caring for her daily. Lastly to Hospice of Acadiana and the staff of Abbeville General Hospital for their care shown to Patricia.
In keeping with Patricia’s wishes, a memorial mass will held at 4:00 pm Friday, January 24, 2020 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Fr. Keith Landry will be the celebrant.
