NEW IBERIA- It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nicholas Charles Schaubert, age 43, of New Iberia, Louisiana, who left us far too soon on Monday, December 23, 2024. Nicholas was a vibrant and loving individual whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Nicholas had a passion for roosters and horses. He loved raising and caring for the animals. His dedication to working with his father, Whitney “Skipper” Schaubert, Jr., to raise horses was a bond that reflected his hardworking nature and love for the animals. He found peace in tending to the horses—feeding them hay, cleaning their stalls, and taking long walks with them. Nicholas was happiest when he was surrounded by the creatures he loved and the family who cherished him.
Nicholas was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Linda Trahan Schaubert, whose life he brightened with his affection and care. Together, they shared a life full of love and shared moments that will be forever treasured.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Trahan Schaubert; his father, Whitney “Skipper” Schaubert, Jr.; his mother, Cheryl Castille Schaubert; his godchild, Makenzie Nugent; his godchild, Nyiah Mouton; and his grandmother, Carmen Castille.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Castille, and his paternal grandparents, Whitney and Earline Schaubert.
Although Nicholas’ time with us was far too short, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love, warmth, and passion for life will be remembered fondly by all who loved him.
Services are pending at this time. The family asks for prayers during this difficult time and extends their heartfelt thanks for the love and support received.
May Nicholas rest in peace.
