NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Murvin LeBlanc, the former Lilly Landry, age 84, at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Tuesday with a Rosary being recited by the Men’s Rosary Group at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Wednesday until service time.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. LeBlanc passed away at 5:22 am on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Lilly was a devout catholic and a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Along with her late husband, Murvin LeBlanc, Lilly was a member of the Golden Age Club where they got the opportunity to travel, attend dinners, and dance. In 1983, Murvin and Lilly were crowned as the King and Queen of the Golden Age Club. Lilly had a green thumb. She loved to plant roses, hibiscus, and especially lilies. Anything that she planted would grow into a beautiful plant. Lilly was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family more than anything and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her five daughters, Arlene Meyers and husband Benjamin “Buddy”, JoEllen Thibodeaux and husband Clint, Linda Hebert and ex-husband Glen P. Hebert, Tammy Galtier and husband Scotty, and Lavonne Langley and husband Calvin all of New Iberia; ten grandchildren, Nichelle, Britt, Kyle, Heather, Lindsey, Lance, Logan, Paige, Chrisian, and Lanie; thirteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-six years, Murvin J. LeBlanc; daughter, Verdy LeBlanc Pitre; parents, Theodore Sr. and Linda Broussard Landry; and brothers, Ray Landry and Theodore Landry, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Kyle, Alex, Logan, Lance, Colby, and Billy Landry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scotty and Calvin.
The family would like to extend special thanks to AAA Hospice and their staff; especially to Gary, Felicia, Cindy, and Breanne for their help and support.
