John "T-John" Segura

DELCAMBRE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. John “T-John” Segura, age 73, at 11:00 am Monday, October 14, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Nathan Comeaux officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday and remain open until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Segura passed away at 3:05 pm on Thursday October 10, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Segura, also known as T-John, worked for Howard Construction for many years before opening his own company, T-John’s Construction, and also a trailer park. Mr. Segura was a Saints fan and was dedicated to his work and also his family. He particularly loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, John Paul Segura of New Iberia; daughter, Jenny Dore’ of New Iberia; grandchildren, Tanya Segura Dalton, Tali Segura, Jamie Dore, Ty Segura, Traten Segura; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Lastie Segura and wife MaryAnn of New Iberia, Dennis Segura and wife Ann of New Iberia, Joseph Segura and wife Ruby of New Iberia and Reynold Segura and wife Arlene of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Morvant Segura; parents, Harrison and Julia Segura; brothers, Edward Segura, Walter Segura and Ellis “Crip” Segura; sisters, Sophille Maturin, Sophie Alleman, Mae Duhon, Lucille Gaspard, Shirley Segura and Mabel Moreaux.

Pallbearers will be John Paul Segura, Ty Segura, Reynold Segura, Joseph Segura, Travis Coons, Craig Segura, Robert Boudreaux and Eric Bullard.

Traten Segura will serve as honorary pallbearer.
