Howard Antoine Dautreuil Sr.

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Howard Antoine Dautreuil, Sr., age 90, at 3:00 pm Friday, March 12, 2010 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Deacon George Sykes officiating. Members of the VFW Post #1982 will have a flag presentation and Taps. Inurnment will be held at Holy Family Mausoleum at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am Friday until service time with a Rosary at 11:00 am.

A native of St. Martin Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Dautreuil passed away at 2:10 pm on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at New Iberia manor North nursing home.

Mr. Dautreuil was a Veteran of the United States Army who served his country faithfully during World War II. He was an animal lover who raised cattle for many years, enjoyed hunting and working with his beagles. He enjoyed spending time with his family and reading.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Babineaux Dautreuil of New Iberia; one son, Antoine Howard “Butch” Dautreuil of New Iberia; two sisters, Georgie D. Long of Orange, TX and Margie D. Belaire of New Orleans and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Remy Francois and Oceania Menard Dautreuil; four brothers, Davis, Orphe, Collins and Alton Dautreuil and two sisters, Anna Mae D. Perkins and Adille D. Manuel.

The family would like to thank AAA Home Health and Hospice of Acadiana for their wonderful care during their time of need.
