Gloria "Jean" Savoie Moreaux

NEW IBERIA - A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Raymond Moreaux, Sr., the former Gloria “Jean” Savoie, age 66, at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Wednesday with a Rosary bring recited by Dorothy Boudreaux at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Thursday until service time.

A native Franklin and resident of New Iberia, Gloria passed away at 9:03 PM on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria was born on October 15, 1949 to the late Lionel Sr. and Angelle Simoneaud Savoie. Gloria was a member of the Bayou Country Cruisers Car Club. She also enjoyed going to the casino to play her favorite game, Black Jack. Gloria was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Moreaux, Sr.; sons, Ronlee Segura and Harris Segura and companion Amanda; daughter, Tracy Perez and husband Pelon; step-sons, Raymond “Black” Moreaux, Jr. and wife Angela, Albert Moreaux, and Hilton “Pete” Moreaux; step-daughter, Shirley Neisser and husband Clarence; grandchildren, Catherine, Tiffany, Raymond “Bubba” III, T.J, Sadie, Hunter, Ashton, Lexie, Reagan, D.J, Ashley, Jessica, C.J, Ethan, Paula, Jazmine, Brandon, Angel, Derrick, and Austin; eighteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; great niece, Mi-Mi; brothers, Dudless Hebert and wife Angelle and Leroy Savoie and wife Sally; sisters, Mary Derouen, Theresa Schexnyder and husband Brady, Evalynn Metts, and Lettress Aucoin; brother-in-law, Richard Moreaux; ; sister-in-law, Dianne Moreaux; and beloved pets, Toby, Ma-Ma, Chloe, Candy, and Nova.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis “Brud” Segura; father, Lionel Savoie, Sr.; mother, Angelle Savoie; step-father, Charlie Davis; brothers, Lionel Savoie, Jr. and Lawless Savoie; sister, Marie Eva Benoit; sister-in-laws, Barbara Bourque and Mary Moreaux; brother-in-law, Eldridge Moreaux; and father and mother-in-law Adam and Lelia Moreaux.

Pallbearers will be Arturo Perez, Raymond “Bubba” Moreaux III, Ronlee Segura, Harris Segura, C.J Neisser, D.J Segura, Hunter Segura, and Russell Duhon

Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond “Black” Moreaux, Jr., Albert Moreaux, Keith Krause, and Rene Romero.

The family would like to thank Acadiana Oncology and the staff of Heart of Hospice for the excellent care provided for Mrs. Gloria.
