Charles Ray Edmond

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Charles Edmond, age 80, at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Brian Harrington officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Saturday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Edmond passed away at 11:22 am on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at his daughter’s residence in Crosby, TX.

Mr. Edmond served his country honorably in the US Air Force. He loved collecting basketball cards, listening to Cajun and country music and watching old western movies.

He is survived by his son, James Edmond of New Iberia; two daughters, Carla Maturin and husband Shane of Crosby, TX and Tammy Benoit and husband Roy of New Iberia; five grandchildren, Gracie Maturin and companion Alex Jacgneaux; Mia Maturin; Zane Maturin; Kasey Benoit and companion Charlie Collins and Cody Benoit and wife Monique; four great grandchildren, Bryson Benoit; Brayden Benoit, Casyn Collins and Krystee Benoit and one sister, Emma Badeaux.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Wyble Edmond; two sons, Kenneth Edmond and Charles Erwin Edmond; one daughter, Terri Lynn Edmond; one granddaughter, Kristie Michelle Benoit; parents, Joseph Elvie and Clara Grace Hollier Edmond and one brother, Phillip Kern Edmond.

Pallbearers will be Zane Maturin, Coty Benoit, Alex Jacgneaux, Chance Maturin, Bryson Benoit, Billy Maturin and Coty Maturin.
