Carl was born December 15, 1938 on Weeks Island to the late Thomas Medver and the late Irene Hebert Medver and was one of three children. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army with the rank of E-4. Many students will remember Mr. Medver for the 25 faithful years he taught in the Iberia Parish School System with Park Elementary and Center Street Elementary. He loved his career in education and was always happy to see former students and was always proud of their successes.
Outside of teaching, Carl was a supporter of his loving wife and her dance studio, Violet Medver’s School of Dance. He also spent time tending to his garden and was the cook of the family, having made some of the best Cajun dishes around. Carl was also a friend to anyone he met. No matter the situation, he always seemed to have a joke and smile for you, and never too busy to reminisce about the good times.
Above all, Carl’s greatest love was for his family. The best of times were shared with them, and memories were made to last a lifetime. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and everyone who he touched in his 84 years. Rest well. We love you.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jennifer Medver Grigsby and husband Scott and Margaret Medver Jaques and husband Robert; his grandchildren, Jonathan Thiessen, Jillian Hebert, Emma Jaques and Noah Jaques; his sister, Shirley Bonin; and his beloved and faithful companion, Bruno.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Violet D’Albor Medver; and his brother, Thomas Medver, Jr.
