Anna V was born on February 22, 1934, in Lafayette to the late Joseph Rene’ LeBlanc and the late Nola Vincent LeBlanc. She was one of five children in the family, and grew up in Erath, Louisiana, surrounded by a rich Cajun heritage. From a very early age, she was instilled with the value of hard work, a trait she carried with her throughout her life.
Over the course of her 90 years, Anna V worked with various businesses in New Iberia, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. Many will fondly remember her time working with her sons-in-law at Fremin’s Food and Furniture, as well as her stints at Menard Grocery, The French House, Trappey’s, and as a caretaker of the Veterans Memorial Building in City Park. Anna V truly enjoyed being around people and cherished the relationships she built with the public and her friends. She deeply missed these connections when she could no longer work.
In her personal life, Anna V took immense pleasure in cooking meals for her family. She also enjoyed camping trips in her younger years, with cherished memories of trips to Branson, Missouri, and Canada. However, she was most content in the comfort of her home, which she kept immaculate, always ensuring it was spotless, even when family visited. A beloved family memory is how Anna V wore out two rainbow vacuums from frequent carpet shampooing, a testament to her devotion to cleanliness.
That home that she cherished so dearly will always remind us of the wonderful times we shared with her, adorned with memories to last a lifetime. We will keep you close to our hearts and in our thoughts and look forward to the day when we are reunited with you in eternal glory. Until that very precious day, rest well. We love you.
Anna V is survived by her children: Lillian R. Fremin (David), Branda R.
