Thaemert, Violet S. (nee Petrasik) age 92, of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, passed away July 26, 2010. Preceded in death by parents, John and Susan Petrasik; five brothers and beloved husband of 56 years, Rev. Leonard Thaemert and two great-grandchildren. Violet was a 1939 graduate of Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, St. Louis, MO who worked at the University of Minnesota prior to retiring while at the same time, serving as an outstanding pastor’s wife. During retirement, she enjoyed many trips, gardening and baking her famous pies for friends and neighbors. She was known for her witty humor, decorating skills, sweet smile and quiet flamboyance. She will be missed by her family and many friends at Redeemer Church and Copperfield Hill apartments. She is survived by three children, Leonette Viesselman of Los Angeles, Robert Thaemert (Susan) of Las Vegas, Don Thaemert (Nancy) of White Bear Lake; seven grandchildren, Col. Heather Pickett, USAF (Rex), Scott Viesselman (Vashti), Christopher Thaemert, Andrew Thaemert, Matthew Thaemert, Molly Ernst (Nate), Sarah Snyder (Christopher) and five great-grand-children, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral service (August 2, 2010) Monday, 11 AM, Redeemer Lutheran Church, 42nd & Regent, Robbinsdale, Minnesota. Visitation one hour prior to service at the church.
