Robert Roy MacGregor Jr. of New City, NY passed away peacefully on October 31,2018 after suffering a stroke September 14th 2018. Roy was born on May 26th 1934 to Anna and Bob MacGregor Sr. in Brooklyn, NY. Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Nancy. Roy graduated from Midwood High School, where he met and later married the love of his life, Nancy, in 1956.
Roy was an engineer for the Brooklyn Union Gas Co. and retired after 36 years of service. Roy and Nancy moved from Brooklyn, NY to Rockland County, NY in 1979 and settled in New City. Roy enjoyed sports, especially Football, “Number 24”, as a player and later as the defensive coach for the Brooklyn Mariners. Flower pot gardening was a favorite of his and Nancy. Dad was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles and loved taking pictures of his family and enjoyed being outdoors. Our Dad was a devoted, loving, patient and generous husband and father; other characteristics were being strong-willed and stubborn with a great sense of humor.
Roy is survived by his loving son and daughter, Robert MacGregor III and Annemarie MacGregor- Stephens. He is also survived by his younger brother Gerard. He is preceded in death by his sisters Delores and Jean and brothers Kenneth and Mack. We love you Dad and thank-you for all you have done for us. You will be in our hearts forever, until we all meet again.
