Robert Seymour Garrison

Robert Seymour "Buster" Garrison of New City passed away on January 13, 2015. He was born in Suffern, NY on December 8, 1945 to Daniel Seymour and Hattie (Eberling). Robert was a lifelong resident of New City and worked for the NYS Thruway Authority for 17 years, retiring in 2007. He was an avid collector of model cars, trains, currency and classic movies. He enjoyed working with his hands and building things around his home and had a passion for flowers and was an avid gardener. Robert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and his deceased buddy Gizmo. Although Buster did not travel far from his home in New City, when he did, it meant all the world to him. Robert is survived by his life partner and best friend for over 40 years Nancy of New City; sons Robert Seymour Garrison, Jr., Esq. and Rudy Alberto Zuniga; daughters Sophie, Linda and Danielle; sisters Joan Ramundo, Ruth Ann Miller and Joy Hinnes; grandchildren Alex, Chris, Kevin and Shawn; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Tom Howard (2014).Family will receive visitors on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Services, New City. A service will take place on Monday 11 am at the funeral home followed by interment at Germonds Cemetery.
