Ornela, Gabriel Elijah, & Liam Patrick Morgan

on December, 30th, 2023, along with her loving sons Gabriel Morgan, age 12 and Liam Morgan age 10.

Ornela was born on June 16th 1980, in Korce, Albania to Valentina (Qendro) and Koco Rora. She moved to the United States of America on January 11, 1998 to pursue her big dreams. She lived in Peabody, MA, with her aunt Irini Qendro and graduated from Salem High School in June 1998. Ornela was determined to acclimate and excel in her academics as an Albanian immigrant. In 2002, Ornela graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Salem State College. In 2004, Ornela received her masters of science in Special Needs Education from Salem State College and right after Ornela moved to NY to begin her teaching career at John Philip Sousa Middle School in Bronx. In 2010, Ornela earned her second master’s degree from NY Institute of Technology and proceeded to work for One World Middle School as a technology teacher and technology coordinator. She received countless academic awards for her classroom performance, the academic success of her students and the adoration of her colleagues and students.

Ornela is survived by her parents and brother Pandush Rora, all residing in Korce, Albania. Her large extended family includes aunt Irini Qendro residing in Peabody, MA, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins residing in Massachusetts, Albania and Greece. All mourn the loss of their beautiful Ornela and her boys.

Ornela was a devoted mother and loved to travel with her family. Gabriel and Liam were both exceptional in both academics and sports. Gabriel enjoyed soccer and in November 2023, he had the opportunity to practice with the USA soccer team and traveled to Madrid, Spain. Liam enjoyed playing basketball. Both Gabriel and Liam loved to give back to the community and constantly delivered meals as part of the Meals on Wheels program. Gabriel and Liam belonged to Boy Scouts (Troop 97) and received many badges for the merits they completed.

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Parrot Road, West Nyack, NY from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and Friday, January 12th from 10:00am to 11:00am at St. Mary’s Albanian Church, 535 Salisbury Street Worcester, MA. Their funeral service will be held right after Friday’s calling hours. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, Rockland County, or to 9/11 Foundation in memory of Ornela, Gabriel and Liam or to St. Mary’s Albanian Church, Worcester, MA.
