Miriam G. Fox passed away peacefully on Jan.31 ,2019. Miriam was a beloved sister and aunt. She was born in Teaneck, NJ and resided mostly in Englewood, NJ, Fordham Hill, NY and Congers, NY. After attending William Paterson University for her undergraduate degree, she received an M.A. from Seton Hall University. She completed her formal education with a Ph.D. in Education. She spent her career teaching grammar school in Bergenfield, NJ. She had many interests including downhill skiing in the eastern states, cross-country skiing in NY, ice skating, boating with her husband, and sailing with friends. She also enjoyed designing clothes, painting, and interior design. She traveled extensively through Europe and enjoyed vacationing in the Caribbean and Bermuda.
Miriam was predeceased by her husband, John (Jack) L. Fox, P.E., her sister, Eileen Curran-Othmer, and her nephew, John Curran (LCDR, USN Ret.). She is survived by her brothers, James Gorman and John Gorman, as well as her sister, Mary Stallone. She also leaves behind nephews Kevin Curran, Michael Curran, Robert Curran, William Curran, and John Stallone plus nieces Rosemary Stallone and Elizabeth (Stallone) Jonach.
Visitation will on Tuesday Feb. 5, 2019 at Higgins Funeral Home, 113 Lake Road East, Congers NY 10920 from 9:45 to 10:45 AM.
A mass will be held at Church of St. Paul’s, 82 Lake Road West, Congers, NY 10920 at 11:15AM on February 5th, with burial to follow at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Road, Monsey, NY.
