Kevin P. Lynch

Kevin P. Lynch, 88, of Margate, FL, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born on October 14, 1936, in New York City to Michael and Lucy Lynch, Kevin proudly served in the United States Navy before dedicating 33 years of his life to the New York City Fire Department, where he rose to the rank of lieutenant. He was a longtime resident of New City, NY, before relocating to Margate, FL in 2015.

Kevin is survived by his two daughters: Mary Hehn (David) of Sea Cliff, and Karen Higgins (Patrick) of Congers. He is also survived by his loving wife, Catherine. He will be dearly missed by his cherished grandchildren: Bryan, Christopher, Connor, Sean, Kayleigh, Jack, and Shannon.

Kevin was predeceased by his beloved wife of 48 years, Dorothy, and his son Kevin. A man who treasured time spent with family and friends, Kevin particularly enjoyed his years in Margate, where he could often be found playing cards, bingo, and attending social gatherings with old friends.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 3 to 8 pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 21st, at 10 am at St. Augustine’s Church in New City. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet.

Kevin will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
