Daniel Patrick Downey of New City, NY, 50 years old, passed away on January 25, 2022. Dan was a resident of New City. He was born on January 7, 1972 to John and June Downey in Brooklyn, NY. Married to his best friend Patricia M. (Golden) Downey for 20 years. Dan worked at the JCC of Rockland as the Financial Controller. There was nothing in life he loved more than his children, Daniel Jr. (15) and Sally (11). He was a devoted hockey & soccer dad that spent every weekend watching his kids’ games. His second love was the NY Yankees and he was a life-long fan. He is survived by his wife and children, his mother June Downey, his brother John (Maria), his sister Mary Jane Vogel (Bob), his brother Kevin (Debby), and his brother Timmy and numerous nieces and nephews. Dan had the gift to make anyone laugh and he will be missed by all that knew him.
A memorial mass is planned for Friday, Feb. 4th at 11:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 128 Parrott Road, West Nyack, NY 10994.
