Christopher Ahern

Christopher J. Ahern of Pearl River New York passed away peacefully October 3, 2020 at Nyack Hospital he was 86. Christopher was born January 27, 1934 in Tournafulla Co. Limerick Ireland to John and Mary Ward Ahern.

Christopher was raised on a farm in Ireland and came to the United States in 1955 in search of the American dream he settled in the Inwood Section of Manhattan and moved to Pearl River N.Y. in 1983.

Christopher worked for 40 years as a Dispatcher for Rapid Armored Car service in Brooklyn and retired in 2014 at the age of 80.

Christopher was an active member of St. Aedan’s Ch. In Pearl River and attended mass every day, he was also an avid Gardener and enjoyed long walks and everything about nature.

Christopher will be remembered as a Devoted and loving Husband, Father and Grandfather who’s Greatest Joy came from spending time with his family.

Christopher is survived by his loving wife Joan, 3 children Brian and his wife Monica, Patricia Tricia Vogel and her husband Peter and Sheila Ahern. 1 sister Hannah Daly and her husband Danny. Five cherished Grandchildren Hannah, Christopher, Ryan, Katie and Brian, he is also survived by many Nieces and nephews. Christopher is Pre deceased by 3 brothers Michael, David and Dennis and 3 sisters Bridie Barrett, Nancy Corcoran and Mary Jo Casey.

The Ahern family will receive friends Wed from 3pm to 7 pm at the Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home 321 S. Main St New City N.Y 10956 A mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday at 11am at St. Aedan’s Ch. Pearl River N.Y. with burial to follow at Rockland Cemetery Sparkill N.Y.
