Charlotte Agnes Thorsen

Charlotte Thorsen of Nanuet passed away peacefully on December 5, 2014. She was 90 years old. Born in New York City on April 8, 1924, to Agnes and Horst Franzel. Charlotte loved to dance and was one of the first instructors for the Arthur Murray dance studios. She continued providing dance lessons to seniors well into her 80's. Most recently, she was a member of the Nanuet Senior Citizens Club and the Clarkstown Meals on Wheels Senior Center. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband, Ole Thorsen, as well as her three brothers, Robert, Paul and Ambrose Franzel. Charlotte is survived by her sisters, Eileen Joyner of Fayetteville North Carolina, and Ursula Pardo of Suffern, New York; her sons and daughters-in-law Carl (Lyn), Eric (Ilene), Martin (Joan) and Rolf (Lisa); her grandchildren Kathryn, Carl, Krista and their mother Betsy Thorsen, Dagny, Christian, Natalie, Owen and Nolan; her four great-grandchildren Molly, Finn, Noah and Lily, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7, from 1:00 to 4:00pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City.
