Rosa was born on December 30, 1930, in Marsala, Sicily, Italy, Province of Trapani, to the late Natale and Angela (Gandolfo) Manzo. She had also attended and graduated the University of Palermo in Italy. She worked and retired as a seamstress for many years, working in Italy and Connecticut. Rosa was an avid parishioner of St. Ann Church.
Rosa will be remembered for being a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook and bake, devoting most of her time to her grandchildren. She loved to vacation in the summers with her family and had a green thumb for gardening. She had the skill of making a dead plant come back to life. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her children: Frances A. Carroll of Berlin and Michael V. Mercurio of New Britain, her precious grandchildren: Patrick William Carroll, Nicholas Chase Carroll and Ana Capri Mercurio, her brothers; Domiano Manzo and his wife Carole Anne of Berlin, Salvatore Manzo and his wife Patricia of Berlin, and Vincenzo Manzo of Cromwell, several nieces and nephews and her special pet, Blake Carroll, who she loved to feed her Italian food to. She was also predeceased by her sisters; Rosa Arini, Antonetta Angi and Catarina Gandolfo and a sister in law, Filomena Manzo.

Funeral services will begin Friday, March 13, 2020 at 8:30am at New Britain Memorial Donald D.Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave,. New Britain followed by her Funeral Liturgy at 10AM in St. Joachim Parish, Church of St. Ann, North St., New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
