Marek Ostrowski, 64, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 with his beloved family by his side. Born in Poland to the late Antoni and Ania (Dabrowska) Ostrowski, Marek came to the United States in 1979 and settled in New Britain. Marek grew up with three siblings in Poland: brothers Henryk and Jan and sister Teresa. Marek loved fishing, boating, camping, and gardening with his family- especially his four grandkids. He was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Wethersfield for many years. In addition to his parents, Marek is predeceased by his brother, Jan Ostrowski. Marek is survived by and will be dearly missed by: his sons Christopher and his wife Carolyn, of Broad Brook, and Michael and his wife Kelly, of Sturbridge, MA; his grandchildren: MacKenzie, Madisyn, Aiden, and Ariella; siblings: Henryk Ostrowski and Teresa Barszczewska both of Poland; several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends, especially Bill W. of Hardware City. A period of visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain from 4:00-7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church, Broad Street, New Britain at 9:30am. Friends and family are invited to gather at the funeral home Saturday morning from 8:30-9:00am. Committal services will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Burritt Street, New Britain.
