his loving family by his side on Sunday, May 15, 2016. He was
the son of the late Adam and Helena Kowalczyk-Mlynarczyk. During 1940 at the
age of 14 while living in Poland, Lucian was apprehended by the Germans and
sent to several concentration camps including Auschwitz, where he was tattooed
with the number 180962 on his upper left arm. He served in the Korean war from September 1950-June 1952. Lucian started out as a policeman then promoted to detective working 37 years for the New Britain Police Department retiring in 1996.
He also worked many years for Stanley Works. Lucian was predeceased by his
former wife of 27 years Mary Tyropolis-Mlynarczyk. Lucian was a proud gentle-
man who always went out of his way to say a kind word to everyone. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his current loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Zofia Mlynarczyk, and his two children, a son Peter Mlynarczyk and his wife Tatiana of Haddam, a Step-Granddaughter Victoria Protsyk, a daughter Helen Simons and her husband Scott of New Britain, a beloved niece Irena Krol and her husband Henryk
of West Hartford, a beloved nephew Cezary Mocarski and his wife Marzena of New Britain and a great niece Natalia. The Mlynarczyk Family would also like to
give a special thanks to the Hartford At Home Healthcare Hospice Team for the excellent care they gave to make Lucian comfortable especially the nurse and home health aides which includes: Diane Ruskys, Grace Drezek and Maria Rosenblatt.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain
Funeral Services will begin May 19, 2016 at 9am at the funeral home for a brief gathering followed by his funeral liturgy at 10 am at Holy Cross Church, Farmington Ave, New Britain.
