Edgar was born in Eagle Lake, ME on August 2, 1927 and was the son to the late Levite and Alvine (Raymond) DeVoe.
Edgar loved his time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid Red Sox fan, although he spent much of his time complaining about how bad they were. He served in the Army with the 1583 Engineer Service Company, Corps of Engineers. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.
In addition to his loving wife of 63 years Dulcie, he is also survived by his son Bryan (Sandy) DeVoe of Bloomfield, daughters Barbara (Mark) Kalisz of Newington and Debbie (Dale) DeVoe of Augusta, ME. His grandchildren Denise (Matt) Clark, Shawn (Crystal) DeVoe, Heather (Pat) Kelly, Kyle (Katie) DeVoe, Ashley (Justin) Sherman, Drew (Cheryl) DeVoe, Whitney DeVoe and Chet. His great grandchildren Kylie, Keenan, Khloe, Mason, Wyatt and Cole. His sister Angelina Dube and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and many, many dear friends. In addition to his parents Edgar was pre deceased by his sons Bruce and Glenn, daughter Brenda Hill and several brothers and sisters.
A Funeral Home Service with Deacon Michael Rubitz will be held on Tuesday October 2nd at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Garden Mausoleum in New Britain. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9-11am at the Funeral Home.
