Carmine L. Sullo, 78, of Bristol, passed away on March 1, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. Carmine was born on December 18, 1939 to the late Louis and Palma (Pompa) Sullo. He is survived by two sisters, Patricia Gaudio of Lake Worth, Florida and her husband, Lewis; and Louise Vintila of Belchertown, Massachusetts. He is also survived by three children and their spouses, Dean Sullo (Michelle) of Bristol; Dustin Sullo (Christine) of West Caldwell, New Jersey; and Dara Pulido (Christopher) of San Antonio, Texas. Carmine also leaves behind five grandchildren, Kyle Sullo, Jenna Sullo, Brianna Sullo, Hayley Pulido, and Chloe Pulido. He is also mourned by his former wife and the mother of his children, Laraine Atherton of Ingleside, Texas. Carmine was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where he served on the U.S.S. Barry. He was honorably discharged in January 1963, following a six year term of service. He graduated from Stamford High School. While he was retired in recent years, Carmine enjoyed a long-term career working at companies such as ISPG, Wentworth Laboratories, and D & B Computing Services. Carmine had a special talent for refinishing and restoring antique furniture. He loved spending time with friends and family, watching horse races, playing golf, vacationing in the Lake George area, and cheering on his favorite football team, the New York Jets. A memorial service will be scheduled to take place at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
