Robert Thomas Keoghan, known to most as Red, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville, Texas. Red was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on September 12, 1930 to Leo A. and Margaret (nee Fletcher) Keoghan.
Red proudly served in the United States Army and after receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, he was a proud member of the American Legion Post #245 in Seguin and later moving to Post #179 in New Braunfels.
Red started working at Mission Valley Mills sweeping floors and worked his way up to supervisor of the design office, retiring from WestPoint Pepperell after thirty plus years of service.
The love of Red's life, Geneva, preceded him in death by 9 months and 19 days. Red passed away exactly one month shy of his 88th birthday.
Red is survived by his sister, Marilyn Weeks (Richard) of California; son, Robert Joel Keoghan (Debbie); daughter, Peggy Cooper (Mark); son, Joe Stoeltje (Annie); sisters-in-law, Annie Lee (Tootie) Timmermann (Curtis) and Dottie Keoghan of New Jersey; grandchildren, Michelle Kirkland (David), Ryan Haug (Marissa), Elise Keoghan, Kimberly Demore (Chad), Teresa Bracey (Greg), David Supulver (Lillian), Deborah Supulver, William (Billy) Stoeltje, Justin Stoeltje, Ryan Cooper (Megan), Lauren Cooper (Hunter) and Mallory Cooper; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews from Texas to New Jersey to California.
Red was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Margaret Keoghan; wife, Geneva; daughters, Barbara Keoghan Mathius and Susan Stoeltje; infant son, Robert Keoghan; son, George Keoghan; and brothers, Leo E. Keoghan, Gerald Keoghan and Raymond Keoghan, of Jersey City.
Pallbearers will be Robert Keoghan, Ryan Haug, Mark Cooper, Greg Bracey and David Supulver.
A Visitation was held at Zoeller Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from 4:30-6:30 pm. The Funeral Services were immediate family only. Memorials may be made to the Honor Guard, DAV Chapter 61 at 425 Vaughan St. Seguin, Texas 78155.
