Matilde A. Rivera

Matilde Rivera, 75, of New Braunfels, went to be with our Lord on December 16, 2015. Born on August 12, 1940 at La Andrea Ranch, she was the daughter of Felipe Alegria and Jacinta Jimenez Alegria. Matilde grew up in a ranching family and her father and brothers were “Vaqueros”. Matilde married at the young age of 15 and later went to get her master’s in life. She started her own family, raising 5 children on her own after the passing of her first husband. She loved all Spanish music and most of all she loved to dance. Matilde also enjoyed gardening, fishing and decorating her home on every special holiday. She was kind, generous, loving and made a new friend everywhere she went.

Matilde is survived by her loving husband, Feliciano Rivera Jr.; daughters, Norma Garcia, Elida Nieto, Eliza Herrera; sons, Rosvelle Cadena and Oscar Cadena; step-daughter, Carmen McCoog; step-sons, Armando Rivera, Arturo Rivera, Alberto Rivera; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Matilde is preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters and 1 brother. She will be greatly missed.
