Mary, of Canyon Lake, TX took her last breath on September 6, 2024. In her own words, “I want to go peacefully in my sleep” (which she was granted by our Lord). Her life was lead with many outstanding accomplishments.
Mary was born on April 14,1955 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Baldus P. (Buck) Iverson US ARMY WWII Veteran and Mary T. Iverson (née Koestner) US Navy WWII Veteran Mary is survived by her devoted spouse, CMSGT Russell B. Brown, USAF (ret). her son LN1 (SW/IW) (Ret). US NAVY Dennis Baker (Robert Mott), daughter US NAVY Veteran Brittana J. Wilt US NAVY Veteran ( Christopher Wilt US NAVY Veteran , treasured grandson Alexander M. Wilt (ROTC) and loving siblings, the late David E. Iverson (Janice (née Bragalone), Martha L. Kohnke (Frederick), the late Paul F. Iverson, Julie A. Iverson (Betty Kollar), Marilyn J. Katalinic (the late Stanley ), Joan M. Maas ( David Veteran USMC ), Nancy L. Babich (Vincent), Barbara E. Escamilla (Mario), Charles P. Iverson (Mary Lou née Fleming) and Elizabeth S. Anderson (Terrence). Also survived by Bother-in-laws, USA Viet Nam Veteran Steven Brown USA Viet Nam Veteran (Suzette), Don Brown USA Viet Nam Veteran (Betty) and John Brown USA Viet Nam Veteran. Numerous Family and Friends including 26 nieces and nephews and 41 great-nieces and nephews.
Attended St. Bride’s Grammar School, Aquinas Dominican High School, and graduated from Central YMCA High School in 1972. Mary received her BS in Criminal Justice from Brighton University.
In November 1973, SMSGT Mary Iverson started her brilliant career in the US Air Force beginning at Lackland AFB in San Antonio , Tx for basic training. Her duty stations during her 24 years of service includes Chanute AFB, Clark AB, Duluth AS, Nellis AFB, RAF Mildenhall, Ellsworth AFB, and Randolph AFB. Her awards include, Air Force Commendation Medal with 3 devices, Meritorious Service Medal 1 device, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Recognition Ribbon , Air Force Overseas Short Tour 1 device, Air Force Overseas Long tour 1 Device Tour Ribbon, Navy Expert Pistol Medal, National Defense Service Device, Service Award with 5 devices, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon with 2 devices, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Outstanding Airman of the Year Ribbon, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award 7 devises, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award 2 devices, Air Force Good Conduct Medal 7 devices.. Military education is USAF Senior NCO Academy, NCO Leadership School, Academic Instruction School, First Responder Awareness Level Course. Retiring from the Air Force December of 1996.
Following her outstanding Air Force career Mary went to work for the Texas Attorney General Child Support Division as an Investigator and promoted to launch the Special Collections Unit via The Texas Office of the Attorney General . The department then changed it’s name to Financial Institution Data Match (FIDM) working there until her retirement May 2015.
In August 2015 she then went to work for Stellarware a technology company out of Massachusetts as an Outreach Coordinator for CSLN (Child Support Lien Network) and then a Project Manager for EMSC (Employer Maintenance Stellarware Corporation) an innovated internet solution.
After three successful careers, Mary took many opportunities to travel with family and friends. She enjoyed cruising and taking long road trips. We will all miss an amazingly unique woman.
