Kenneth served 4 years in the United States Air Force where he met his wife, Elaine. He was a veterinary tech and spent his time taking care of monkeys. He told many stories of chasing them down to give shots or whatever else they had to do. He then worked as a police officer for a hospital in New Orleans for 3 years while he was getting his Associate of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and then for the University of Mississippi in Jackson, MS for 2 years. When he moved back to Texas he became a hotel night auditor and did that for 17 years working at night. He worked tirelessly at this, many times 7 nights a week to provide for his family. Then he began doing what was his dream job, driving a truck. He did team driving with his wife, Elaine, for 16 years and then as a solo driver for 1 year. Ken loved his sons very much. He loved his sons wives just as much as if they were his own daughters. He felt blessed to have 9 grandchildren (this includes the wife of one of his grandsons) that he was able to spend time with and I'm sure he will watch them and the one he had not met yet as they continue to grow and become great adults from his new vantage point in heaven. He loved to call and visit his mother and always made sure to tell her, I love you, Mama. There are many people who will miss him greatly, especially his wife, Elaine.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Carpenter; his mother, Ruby Maxine Carpenter; his son's Adam Carpenter (Tanis), Kevin Carpenter (Danica), David Carpenter (Erica); Grandchildren Derek Carrasco, Caleb Carpenter (Alexis), Sadie Carpenter, Jake Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter, Reagan Carpenter, Reese Carpenter, Maxine Carpenter; his siblings Marsha Brooks, Priscilla Haldeman, Ruben Carpenter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gordon Leigh Carpenter.
