George was born on September 14, 1938, in Wyandotte, Michigan to Harry LeRoy and Doris (Shakeshaft) Parks. Upon graduating high school, he joined the Army proudly serving his country as a tank driver. After being discharged from the Army, he spent the majority of his career in Quality Control, first within the automotive industry in Detroit, then the oil industry in Texas. George moved to Canyon Lake in 1986 and remained in the area until his passing. George enjoyed boating, tennis, cars, reading, music (especially Bob Dylan), attending church at Shepherd of the Hills, and the Detroit Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, and Pistons (loyal to the end).
George is survived by his wife, Sandy Ross Parks; daughter Nicole (Bill) Morris; grandchildren Luke, Seth, and Riley; great-grandchildren Paisley and Elliott; step-children Tina (Doug) Haynes, Joseph (Debbie) Liveris, Paul (Jona Canzian) Drobot, and Amy Parker (Florentoni) Castro; step-grandchildren Elissa (Mike) Hooper, Spencer Drobot, Laura (Thomas) Brimer, and Daniela Drobot; step-great-grandchildren Tylon, Austin, Thomas Jr., and Bailey; siblings Lee Parks and Linda Yeager; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
George is preceded in death by his parents Harry LeRoy and Doris Parks, siblings Robrena Shurmur and Harry James “Jimmy” Parks, grandson Greyson Morris, and stepson Glenn (Donna) Drobot.
