After graduating from Jefferson High School, Elsa attended Mary Hardin Baylor to pursue a degree in Business. While in college, Elsa met and married Jerald Hamer. Shortly thereafter, she had her first child, Jerald Hamer Jr. She went on to have three more children, Gary, Cary and only daughter, Teri Hamer Roybal. While raising her children Elsa maintained her entrepreneurial spirit and pursed several different business ventures.
Elsa was so generous and hospitable that all her children’s friends (“the Balfour Bums” as they were known) wanted to hang out at the Hamer house. They quickly all became like family to her. She was well known for her sense of humor and making people around her feel special, and important. She was the type of person that “never met a stranger”. She treated everyone with love and respect, no matter of the situation or their circumstances. She asked questions well, really listened, and genuinely cared about the answer. Her passions were her relationship with the Lord, her children and grandchildren, youth softball, the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, brother Alejandro Trevino, second sweetheart Frank Ebbitt, and beloved dog ChaCha. She leaves to cherish her memories, her first love, Jerald, her brother Roland Trevino, her sons Jerald, Gary, and Cary and her daughter Teri. She also leaves behind her two daughters-in-law, Dalissa and Kelly, son-in-law, Robert Roybal, her ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her puppy Angel.
Her devotion to her family and friends, and her fierce love for the Lord will be remembered by the many that loved her. In lieu of flowers please consider donating in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
