Betty Isabel (Morton) Brown

Betty Morton Brown 1928 – 2020. Betty Brown returned to her Heavenly Father’s Home, and to the Savior whom she loved and served, on October 2, 2020 from her home in New Braunfels, Texas following a gradual decline in Health over the past two years. Betty was born February 15, 1928 in Fallon, Nevada to Francis and Ethel Southam Morton. After school, she worked In her father’s grocery store where she one day met that sailor Newton A. Brown who came to purchase some items in their store. It was love at first sight. She married that sailor during World War II in Reno, Nevada and later moved to San Antonio, Texas. They raised 3 children, Beverly Cheney, Newton M. Brown, and Cynthia L. Brennan after moving to Raymondville, Texas. Her grandchildren are Parris E Cheney, Christin E Brennan, Newton Paxton Brown and Aaron Jacob Brown. Great grandchildren are Lola Gibbs, Jaxson Brown, Bella Eryn Brown and Sadie Carmela Brown. Betty was blessed to receive excellent medical care from her adopted granddaughter, Sandy Clendening.

In 1962, They moved their family to Houston, Texas where Betty worked At Oxirane Chemical Co. Betty was a very sharp businesswoman and later pursued a career in real estate. In 1982 the family moved to New Braunfels, Texas. Her granddaughter surprised her one day by mounting a large commercial sign on a building thus, Betty Brown Real Estate was born.

Betty loved life and all it had to offer. She lived as though the Savior walked beside her every day. She worked hard, was kind and honest and strived to instill these same principals in her children and grandchildren.

Visitation services will be Friday, October 9, 2020 from 11:00am to 1:00pm and the funeral services will be at 1:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1390 Hanz Dr., New Braunfels, Texas 78130. There will be no graveside service due to Covid-19.
