William Cleveland Tilghman, 83, departed this world surrounded by family and friends on Monday, July 18, 2022. Cleveland was a lifelong resident of the Wintergreen community.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia Pappas Tilghman of Cove City; his son, Neal Tilghman of Richmond, Virginia; his sister, Eloise "Skinny" Davis of New Bern; and numerous favorite nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Wintergreen F.W.B. Church, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Rudy Shepard officiating. He will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
