William Lester Smith, 89, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and retired from the City of New Bern. He was also a member of St. Mary’s OFWB Church.
He is predeceased by his wife Anne Manning Smith, parents William and Susan Rowe Smith and his brother Clifton Smith.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane S. Dees; two sons Kenneth Wayne Smith (Yvonne) and Lester Keith Smith; two grandsons Jeremy Glenn Smith and Brian Smith; and three great-grandchildren;3 nieces, Susan Stewart, Audrey Outlaw, Carol Rasler
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary OWFB Church or American Alzheimer’s Association.
A private burial will take place at New Bern Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, April 1, 2017.
