Robert George Soderberg

New Bern, NC – Robert George Soderberg passed away on April 9. 2022 at CarolinaEast Medical Center, New Bern, NC after an extended illness. Robert was born in Lansing, MI on June 22, 1941 to the late George Fretzof Soderberg and Lelah Louise Fox Soderberg Reed (Howard).

Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie Marie Phillips Soderberg of New Bern, NC; daughter, Deborah Soderberg Willis (Kevin) of Morehead City, NC; four grandchildren, Gabrielle Revette Smith (Ross) of Arlington, TX, Laurel Revette DeVore (Dylan) of Durham, NC, James Revette III of Arlington, TX, and Rachel Revette of New Bern, NC; one great-grandchild, brothers, Russell Fox Soderberg of Miami, OK and Richard Jay Soderberg (Vel) of Ft. Collins, CO; sister-in-law, Joan Frazier (Robert) of Reynoldsburg, OH; brothers-in-law, Robert A. Phillips and Karl Galbraith of Springfield, VA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He worked at General Motors, GM-Fisherbody in Lansing, MI, Veterans Administration Hospital in Battle Creek, MI and retired from USPS in Kalamazoo, MI.

Robert belonged to Portland Lodge 31 F&AM. He was a Past Master. He currently belonged to Tuscan-Mt. Gilead Lodge 178 in Hubbardston, MI. He was Past Patron of Portland 258 OES of MI. He now was a member of Mulliken 161 of Mulliken, MI.

Robert joined the Navy when he was 17, then joined the Army serving at Ft. Hayes in Columbus, OH.
