Robert Eugene Barker

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kelly Wilson Barker; his stepmother, Ester Barker; his brother, Andy Barker; and his sisters, Lisa Brown and Deb Gersh. Robert was also a loving father to his daughter, Cathryn "Katie" Quinn (Jameson) and Robert Barker, Jr. (Kasi); and a loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Journee, Jordan, Januaree, Jewelree "Bling-Bling," Miles, and Emmett.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Barker; his mother, Cathryn Hurst Brown; and his stepfather, Jack K. Brown.

Robert received his education from John A. Holmes in Edenton, NC, for high school and later pursued higher education at the National Hardware Lumber Association in Memphis, Tennessee. Robert dedicated 27 years of his life to World Wood in Cove City, NC, where he started as a lumber grader before being promoted to General Manager. He was a valued member of the company and made significant contributions to its success.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Cove City Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that all donations be sent to ECU Health Transplant and Vascular Access in Greenville, NC, 27834.

Robert Eugene Barker will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
