We are saddened to announce the passing of Richard (Dick) Kosco. Dick took his last breath on Sunday, November 3rd at the age of 89. He was born in Elyria, Ohio on August 13, 1935 to John and Anne Kosco. He attended Elyria High School and Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. As a young boy he enjoyed all sports, lettering in football, baseball, and basketball. He found golf to be his real passion and played into his late years of life.
Dick began his professional career at Lear-Romec division in Elyria, OH and later joined the Moen division of the Stanadyne Corporation (Elyria) in 1969 as chief administrative engineer. He then moved into the production division of Moen as manager of assembly. In 1983 he was part of a four man team responsible for the startup of a state of the art Moen operation in New Bern, NC. He initially served as engineering /manufacturing manager. And was promoted to factory manager in 1986 and served in that capacity until he retired in 1993.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anne Kosco; sister Joanne Kapronica and sister Sharon Zelinski. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Sally Ann Ball; sons and daughter-In-Laws, Richard S (Laurie) New Bern NC, Thomas J (Janice Deceased) Amherst Ohio, Daniel M (Darlene) Spartanburg SC, David M (Jenny) Ladera Ranch CA. Christopher A (Anne) New Bern NC. He was the proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Dick was a member of Solid Rock Global Methodist Church. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Dick lived every day for his family and was an example to all who knew him.
A private memorial service will be held on Friday, November 15th at Greenleaf Memorial Park in New Bern, NC. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society.
