Richard Norfleet Bayliss Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20 at Greenleaf Memorial Park in New Bern.

Richard was born in Newport News, Virginia to the late Richard N. Bayliss, Sr. and Mabelle T. Bayliss on March 2, 1940. Richard married his high school sweetheart Patricia M. Bayliss and soon after was stationed in Germany with US Army. Richard was a mail carrier at the Havelock Post Office for 38 years and retired from the Army Reserves after 20 years of service with US Army. He was also a member of the Ocean Masonic Lodge of Morehead City and the Sudan Shriners.

Richard is survived by his wife, Pat Bayliss; son, Richard "Tripp" Bayliss; daughter, Tricia

Yarborough and husband Phillip all of Morehead City; granddaughters Courtney Bayliss and Katie Yarborough; Siblings, Mildred Smith of Oriental, Bobbi McKinney and David Bayliss both of Havelock; beloved companion "Buddy," his dog. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother William "Bill" Bayliss.
