Katherine Dale Adams Dawson

When Dale was home, she was working outside. Dale was very meticulous when it came to her yard and flowers. Inside the home you could also see her passion for decorating no matter the season. Dale also enjoyed her many shopping trips with Carla.

Dale taught in the Craven County School System for over 30 years. Throughout those years she made lasting friendships with fellow teachers and students. She was an active member of Wintergreen Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed helping with the church and members of the community.

Dale will be remembered most for her devotion to her family especially her cherished grandchildren and being a caregiver for her mother. She always made sure holidays and birthdays were extra special. She and Johnnie attended every sporting event and activity for each of their grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, being with family and traveling with Johnnie. She lived in the moment. Dale will be missed by all those who had the privilege to know and love her.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Johnnie Dawson, son, Johnnie Dawson, Jr. and wife, Julie of Cove City, daughter, Katherine Hathaway of Greenville, four grandchildren; Georgia and Rachel Dawson and Adam and Davis Hathaway, mother, Reba Adams, brother, Sammy Adams and wife, Nancy, sister, Nancy Watson and husband, Johnny, and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her father, Samuel L. (Tom) Adams.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations can be made in her honor to Wintergreen Free Will Baptist Church: 2175 Wintergreen Rd, Cove City, NC 28523.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Wintergreen Free Will Baptist Church in Cove City. Funeral Service will follow.
