JoAnn Thomas

JoAnn was born in District of Columbia to the late Harry and Ruby McCambridge. She married, Joe, the love of her life at the age of 17. They spent many years in Maryland, where they built a loving home and family. After retirement they relocated to New Bern in 2008 to be closer to family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert “Joe” N. Thomas Jr.; her parents, Harry and Ruby McCambridge; and in laws, Herbert and Doris Thomas

She is survived by her daughter Tracie Toth, of the home; son, Joseph Thomas of Georgia; daughter, Rene Gorham (Robert), of Virginia; grandchildren, Lauren Ballou (Drew) or Morehead City, Lindsay Gilgo (Justin) of Sea Level, JoAnn Thomas of Georgia and Matthew Gorham of Virginia; great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Colton, John Luke, Emily, Carter, Charlotte and Eliza; sister in law, Judy Thompson and family of Lumberton, NC.

A private service will be held at a later date.

She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank, Miss Lillie, for the years of care and comfort that she provided to JoAnn and her family.
