Gary Francis Michaud, 65, of New Bern, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022. Gary was born on May 16, 1956 in Central Falls, Rhode Island to Emery J. Michaud, Jr. and Madeline Helen Sylvestre Michaud.
Gary worked as an electrician by trade and was employed at Moen, Inc. for the past 16 years. He enjoyed working with his hands in all sorts of ways. He loved wood working and always seemed to have a hobby project in process. He made anything from cabinets to his current boat project, which his family plans to finish in his honor. His favorite pastimes were any kind of fishing, reading or doing Sudoku puzzles, being at the ocean, and spending time with his loved ones. At family gatherings, he was often found teaching grandkids how things worked, or laughing at their antics. He dearly loved spending time with his wife walking the beach or at the water at Union Point.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kelly Michaud; 4 children Peter (Kellie) Palavanchi of Houston, TX; Michael (Jenna) Michaud of Wasilla, Alaska; Megan (Morgan) Everett of Midland, TX; Natalya Michaud (fiancé Jason) of Bossier City, LA; 13 grandchildren - Cameron, Katherine, Micaiah (Hayden), Elias, Dylan, Toben, Kaylie, Trent, Miah, McKenna, Jackson, Maisyn; sister Susan Hess, brothers Steven and Daniel Michaud.
He is predeceased by his son Andrew, parents, Emery and Madeline, sister (baby)Susan, and brother Brian Michaud.
His family would like to thank the medical staff of Carolina East CV-ICU for their attentive care.
Gary had great love of the waterways and fishing. The family requests any memorial gift be made in the form of donation to one of two charities in Gary’s honor. Sound Rivers: https://soundrivers.org/donate-now/ or Take a Kid Fishing: http://takf.com/donate/.
