He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a volunteer driver for the VA.
He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Duerr of New Bern; Susan Anderson of Long Island, NY; one grandchild and his cat J.J.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, May 2, 2014 at Cotten Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
