A veteran of the U.S. Army, Lee served honorably during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he began his career with Weyerhaeuser, where he worked as a senior mechanic and electrician for more than 30 years before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherwood Belcher Norris and Laura Shute Norris; brothers, Sherwood Norris, Billy Norris, George Norris, Bobby Norris, and Harvey Norris; and sisters, Shirley Straker and Sarah Cahoon.
Lee is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Boyette Norris; son, Edward Lee "Ted" Norris, Jr. (Heather) of Jacksonville; daughter, Pamela Norris Acord (Jason) of Hampstead; sister, Mary Elizabeth Toler of New Bern; brother, Donald Norris (Ella) of Alliance; grandchildren, Meagan Williams (Tyler), Logan Hancock, Chloe Norris, Reagan Acord, and Elizabeth Acord; and great grandson, Lucas Williams.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Friendship O.F.W.B. Church in Trenton with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church in his name.
