He was retired but also was self-employed transferring cars for the different dealerships in the local area.
Doug is survived by his wife, Barbara C. Howard; one daughter, Tracy H. Mewborne of Madison, AL; one brother, Wesley Clifford Howard of Gloucester, VA; three sisters, Sue McKee of Amarillo, TX; Molly “Pete” Boyd of New Braunfels, TX; Mary “Boogie” Fox of Sugarland, TX and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 14, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel in New Bern, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Religious Community Services, P. O. Box 704, New Bern, NC 28563.
