Predeceased in death by her daughter Connie Marie Schell.
She is survived by her husband James A. Mitchell, Sr., of Alliance; son James Allen Mitchell, Jr., of Alliance; daughter Sara Mitchell of Grantsboro; brother Willie E. Ireland of Bridgeton; sisters Edna Mayo of Pamlico County, Alma Rouse of Baltimore, MD, and Carrie Banks of Kinston, NC; sister-in-law Beulah Mitchell of Alliance; grandchildren Heidi, Deana, Adam, Alan Dean, Timothy, Kenneth and Elizabeth; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Monday, April 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Cotten Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be held.
