Charlie Best

Charlie Best 86, of New Bern, fell asleep in death on Friday, February 28, 2020. He was born in Craven County in 1934 to the late Eddie Sr. and Della (Bryant) Best. He was the husband of the late Ara Belle Best.

Charlie leaves behind, to cherish his memory two daughters; Selinda Cox-Parker of New Bern and Darlene D. Pender also of New Bern, two sons; Gonzalef Howard and Freddie Howard both of Fayetteville, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a brother; Jerry Best (Erma) of New Bern, a sister; Annie Williams of Tennessee and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Charlie is also preceded in death by a daughter; Grenanne Howard, three sisters; Rosa, Della Mae and Doris, two brothers; Jessie and Eddie.

Throughout his life he worked in the wood milling industry, he loved to make people laugh and enjoyed dancing.

More than anything else, Charlie loved Jehovah, and His family. He symbolized his dedication to Jehovah by water baptism on October 23, 1982. He eagerly looked forward to having better health and spending eternity with his family and friends.

A memorial service will take place at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2750 Amhurst Blvd, New Bern, NC 28562 at 1:00pm on Friday, March 6, 2020.

Mr. Bests’ family has entrusted Cotten Funeral Home and Crematory to assist them in their time of need.
